7/11/2023 0 Comments Sketchup make group shortcut![]() In passing, other useful context sensitive commands that greatly benefit from shortcutting are Explode, Reverse, Orient etc. In SketchUp for web, use Search to look up the commands. To assign shortcuts, look up the name of the command you want to customize and then click the input field to type a custom shortcut key. Ctrl+H - if it's already defined decide to overwrite it or choose another key-combo. In desktop versions of SketchUp, you create or edit shortcut customizations by choosing WindowPreferences (Mac: SketchUpPreferences). In the filter field type hide and you should see the toggle option you want - select it and enter a shortcut key - e.g. Now open Window > Preferences and the Shortcuts tab. To make a shortcut for this edit a group or component by double-clicking it. A blank box means no shortcut is assigned to that tool or command. ![]() Click the box on the right side of the entry. Find the tool or command you want to assign a shortcut to in the search results and hover over that entry with your mouse. I can do pretty much all I want so far except grouping and creating components. Open Search and type in the name of the tool or command you want to assign a shortcut to. There is no built-in shortcut BUT you can add whatever shortcuts you want - unfortunately this particular one is context sensitive and that usually fools a lot of people.
